Updating the Security Touchpad

If you have broadband Internet in your home and you have your Touchpad connected to you home’s network:

  • Step 1 – Go to Settings -> System -> Touchpad Settings
  • Step 2 – Select “Check for Update”
  • Step 3 – Select Install

If you don’t have broadband Internet in your home:

To download the updated app, you need to connect your Security Touchpad to a Wi-Fi internet connection. You can use a Wi-Fi hotspot, or bring your Security Touchpad to a location with available (or free) Wi-Fi access, such as your workplace, the library or a coffee shop.

  • Step 1 – Connect your touchpad to a Wi-Fi Network be clicking “WIFI” on the top bar of your Touchpad
  • Step 2 – Select the appropriate Wi-Fi network and connect
  • Step 3 – Go to Settings -> System -> Touchpad Settings
  • Step 4 – Select “Check for Update
  • Step 5 – Select Install
  • Step 6 – Disconnect your Touchpad from the WiFi connection by tapping “Forget”.(If you are inside your house using a hotspot or any other Wi-Fi Network follow Step 7)
  • Step 7 – Connect your Touchpad back to your Base’s Network but selecting the appropriate SSID and entering the SSID Password (Both located on the bottom of your Base)(If you are outside your house, bring your touchpad home before completing Step 8)
  • Step 8 – Let your Security Touchpad reconnect to the LifeShield Network. Login, and access your system.

Cellular users will enjoy added features, such as the ability to rename sensors and change device settings, by tapping on the ? icon on the Dashboard.

Updating your Smartphone App

Android – the most up-to-date version of the application is version 4.4.6

To update:

You may be prompted with a pop-up when you open the application. If prompted, tap “Update” and the app will begin to download.

If not prompted, please follow the steps below:

  • Step 1 – Open the app on your Android smart phone or tablet and go to Settings -> System -> Touchpad Settings
  • Step 2 – Select “Check for Update”
  • Step 3 – Select Install

iOS Hockey App- the most up-to-date version of the application is version 3.1

To update:

    1. Navigate to www.hockeyapp.net on your iPhone or iPad web browser
    2. Log in using your Hockey App username and password (this is most likely your Directv email address and a password that you set when the beta began)
    3. Tap the iOS Beta App icon
    4. Tap the blue Install button at the top of the page
    5. When the dialogue box pops up, tap Install
    6. The app should then begin to install on your iPhone or iPad’s dashboard
    7. When the install is complete, the app should launch normally
