Terms and Conditions

The LifeShield product requires monitoring service to function, and can only be monitored by LifeShield.  A Product and Service Agreement (contract) is required for purchase.  Purchase must take place through the LifeShield call center, at LifeShield.com or through a preferred partner or authorized dealer.  Promotional offers, pricing, and product availability vary based on satisfactory credit history, homeownership, installation needs and length of the contract term.  Any up front activation fees, shipping, lease fees, warranty fees, and installation fees are due at point of purchase.  Customers who purchased on a lease based contract are responsible for the MSRP value of leased equipment and the total monitoring contract value.  Customers who purchased with a standard service contract where they own the product are responsible for the total monitoring contract value and the MSRP value of the product until the completion of the initial term of a 39 or 63 month contract.  Contracts not in good standing may be sent to collections and result in discontinued monitoring service.  Please see contract for specific value, return process, restocking fees and return requirements.  Or view our return policy online.  Some free monitoring offers and back-up protection may require the purchase of additional equipment.  Installation options are available and can be paid for at point of purchase or may be available as part of the service agreement.  See specific installation terms for each option.  Free LifeView access is offered with many of our security products.  Customers must be in good standing based on contract terms to continue to have access to LifeView.  Crime statistics are available via LifeView but may not be available for all zip codes.  Some homeowner insurance companies offer discounts of up to 20% off their annual price for policyholders with homes protected with professional security and fire protection. Installation

The LifeShield security product is designed to be a DIY product easily setup in your home.  Installation options include self setup or professional installation via an authorized LifeShield partner.  Professional installation must be provided by an authorized LifeShield partner for warranty.  Professional installation fees vary based on promotional offer, location, product purchased, and existence of other security products in the home.  Estimates for cost will be provided via phone but may vary based on actual time spent on installation.  Next day installation is not available in all areas and is contingent on consumer having the LifeShield product in their home available for installation.  Installation promotional discounts not available for all products or in all locations and vary based on credit history.

 

Concierge Service

This service may be offered for limited times and can vary based on when the promotion took place. From June 2012 through Sept 2012 Concierge service was promoted as available with professional monitoring service contract only.  Satisfactory credit history and homeownership required.  Must be in good standing according to the contract terms.  Service not available for all product purchases and not available in all areas.  Initial installation and in-home service covered for 1 year from purchase.  Priority tech service access and VIP offers for the length of the contract. 

 

Monitoring Services:

All monitoring can only be used with LifeShield product purchased directly from lifeshield.com, by calling LifeShield directly, or purchasing from an authorized LifeShield partner.  Monitoring requires customer to have a valid, in good standing, product and service agreement (contract).  Security kits or products purchased from unauthorized parties or via transfer of ownership must undergo new ownership contract creation and be in good standing to start and continue monitoring.  Please see your contract for details on monthly monitoring payments, making service payments, staying in good standing, collections and unsuccessful billing implications.  You are responsible for the total value of the contracted monitoring term.  Service fees can be raised according to the terms disclosed in the contract.  Monitoring for burglary, fire, carbon monoxide, flood, freezing, and medical emergencies require the purchase, setup and activation of the LifeShield product.  Prices for these monitoring options will vary based on promotional offer, product purchased, credit history, homeownership, and contract length.  Prices are subject to change.  Full coverage for burglary, fire, carbon monoxide, flood, freezing, and medical emergencies may require the purchase of additional LifeShield products.  Personal monitoring services are available as part of all contract based monitoring packages.  Use of personal monitoring does not include notification of emergency services.  Certain products like the water/temperature sensor can only trigger personal monitoring.  Personal monitoring allows for notifications via email or text to the contacts provided upon notification setup. 

Professional monitoring services are offered with all kit packages available and require a product and service agreement.   Prices vary based on credit history, home ownership, and service agreement length.  Professional monitoring includes access to the LifeView portal, emergency service (professional) monitoring, and personal monitoring.  Prices start at $29.99 per month and have term length conditions.  Minimum contract length is 1 year for all monitoring agreements. 

 

Full House Fire and Carbon Monoxide Protection

Siren detector works with existing interconnected smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors within your home.  May require additional purchase of these products if you do not already have them.  LifeShield’s Siren Detector (Fire Safety Sensor) must be purchased and full professional monitoring must be in place.  Requires a product and service agreement and consumer to be in good standing according to the terms of that agreement.  We do not support any non-residential or business location for fire, smoke, or heat detection, and local fire marshal codes will vary based on location. We do not provide any warranties regarding fire, smoke, or heat protection for business users.

Security Kit, Monitoring and Back-up Protection

The LifeShield product supports 4 layers of communication and 3 control centers in the home.  Requires purchase of a GSM gateway and professional monitoring.  Control centers and layers of back-up vary for HEK Cell Ready product and a phone line is needed for all 4 layers of communication, but not required in order to use any of the LifeShield Home Security kits.  Console, base and grid extender make up the 3 layers of redundancy.  All 3 are not included in every security kit.  Call for details.

Money Back Guarantee and Return Policy

  1. Return Policy. You can return the System for any reason and cancel this Contract within 7 days after the System is installed or activated. Please call 1-800-481-7432 to receive a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. If you do not install or activate the System within thirty (30) calendar days of your order, you will conclusively be deemed to have accepted your System, and this Contract will continue in force. We are not obligated to issue an RMA after thirty (30) calendar days after your order. After we issue an RMA, you must send all products back to us in the original boxes. We will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. A fifty dollar ($50) restocking fee will be deducted from the amount refunded. You must return the products to our warehouse within twenty (20) calendar days of the issuance of the RMA. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation, signage, stickers, and registration that shipped with the products, and the products must be in new resalable condition. Product not received or not meeting these guidelines will be subject to charges up to or equaling full Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price. Installation is non-refundable.
  2. Ownership. The System will become your property upon payment in-full of the Amount Due at Purchase, including all applicable sales tax. Yard signs and decals shall remain our property and may be removed by us at termination of this Contract. Your right to display the yard signs and decals on your property during the term of this Contract is not transferable.
  3. Risk of Loss. We are not responsible for loss or damage to your System or our equipment due to events or circumstances beyond our control. NO SUCH LOSS OR DAMAGE WILL RELIEVE YOU OF YOUR OBLIGATIONS UNDER THIS CONTRACT. You should keep your System insured against risk of loss in an amount equal to its replacement cost.
  4. Optional Installation Service. If you purchase Installation Service, the equipment indicated in this Contract will be installed in the Premises. Installation charges are not refundable. Installation of equipment is subject to the following conditions: (i) We can access your Premises without interruption during our installer’s normal working hours; (ii) the installation may require drilling into various parts of your Premises; (iii) you will provide 120 volt AC electrical outlets for power equipment in locations designated by our installer; and (iv) you will be responsible for lifting and replacing carpeting, if required, for installation of floor mats or wiring. There may be areas where our installer determines that it is impractical to conceal equipment and wiring. You must within seven (7) days after installation is complete, inspect your System and notify us in writing of any problems. Otherwise you will conclusively be deemed to have accepted your System. If asbestos or other hazardous materials (“Hazardous Materials”) are encountered during installation, installation work will cease until you, at your sole cost and expense remove such Hazardous Materials. In no event will we be liable for the discovery or removal of Hazardous Materials. We shall not be responsible for securing the Premises during the period of installation. You warrant that you (a) request the equipment and Services specified in this Contract for your own use and not for the benefit of any third party, (b) own the Premises or otherwise have the authority to authorize us to install such equipment in the Premises, and (c) will comply with all laws, codes, and regulations pertaining to your System or our Services.

Free LifeView Interactive Monitoring

Free LifeView apps and access to and all features of LifeView is part of the purchase of a LifeShield Home Security kit and Professional Monitoring.  Contract must be signed and customer must be in good standing according to the terms of their contract to continue access.

Theft Protection Guarantee

If someone successfully breaks into your home and causes any damage, steals valuables, or otherwise causes a property loss insurance claim to be filed, LifeShield will pay up to $500 of your insurance deductible. 

Theft Protection Terms & Conditions

       You must be the original purchaser of your LifeShield home security system.

       The property loss was the result of a burglary that took place while your LifeShield security system was in good working order, connected to LifeShield’s servers and/or monitoring center; and was “armed” at the time of the burglary.

       All of your doors and windows were locked, and the intruder entered your home through a door, window or other area equipped with an LifeShield detection device such as an open/close sensor, motion sensor, or glass break sensor, and such detection device was not “bypassed”.

       You are not in default of your Terms of Service or Product and Service Agreement or any payments to LifeShield.

       You file a written claim with your homeowner’s insurance company, and such claim is not rejected or otherwise contested by the insurer.

       You report the burglary loss to the appropriate police department and obtain a written police report.

       You provide LifeShield with copies of the insurance claim report and the police report.

       You sign and return the original copy of LifeShield’s Theft Protection Guarantee certificate (included in your system’s packaging).

LifeShield reserves the right to reject any application for reimbursement that does not comply with ALL of the requirements.  All LifeShield customers receive a Theft Protection Certificate once alarm monitoring is activated on your account. Photocopies or other reproductions of the Theft Protection Guarantee will NOT be accepted. By signing the Theft Protection Guarantee, you certify to LifeShield that all of the foregoing requirements have been satisfied. Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to purchases made directly from lifeshield.com, through a LifeShield Security Advisor, or through an authorized partner.

You may cancel security monitoring services if you are a member of a branch of the United States armed forces or reserves and get called for military duty away from your residence.  You must contact us by calling 1-800-481-7432 and provide proof of your service by mailing the supporting paperwork to corporate headquarters after speaking with a LifeShield Security Advisor.

Service may also be cancelled if the subscriber dies during the term of the service agreement.  The executor of the Subscriber’s estate or next of kin should contact us and provide us with a valid death certificate.  Upon receipt of a valid death certificate, we will terminate the security agreement without penalty.

LifeShield contracts renew per the terms of the initial product and service contract. Subscribers that do not intend to renew need to give at least 60 days written notice of the intention to not renew prior to the start of the renewal term, per your service agreement.
