HOW TO SETUP THE RC8221 INDOOR SECURITY CAMERA -- STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Add the Camera
A)  Plug Ethernet cord into router then into camera first, and then plug power cord into back of Indoor Camera
B) Wait for POWER LIGHT to go solid and for NETWORKING LIGHT to start flickering (wait approximately 1 minute or more time may be needed)
C) Using the Security Touchpad, Mobile App, Web Portal Select Settings
D) Enter Master Code (if necessary)
E) Select “Cameras” from the left hand column.*
F) Select Add “+” At the top of the cameras
G) Follow the on screen instructions to add and set up your camera.
H) Once the Camera has been added and set up, you may rename the camera in the Camera Settings menu
I) Test your Camera by playing a live video or by taking a snapshot
NOTE: it may take a few minutes for Camera to properly take pictures and video through the security portal. Wait if necessary

*When using the Mobile App Cameras will be found under the “Devices & Equipment Settings” Menu

Camera-Wireless Setup
NOTE: You must know your Network SSID, Security Type (WPA/ WPA2, WEP or None), and Password to complete this process. Your Camera must also be on same wireless network and router as your LifeShield Base for proper setup.
L) Log in to the LifeShield Web Portal
M) Once logged in click “Cameras” tab
N) You will see the Cameras that are associated with your account on left-hand side of the screen. Select Camera you want to make wireless from the drop-down menu
O) Click on the “Settings” button located in the right hand corner
P) Click on “Edit” button
Q) Enter in your wireless information:
- Wireless Network SSID– Home Network Name
- Wireless Connection Security– you will need to know if you have WEP, WPA/WPA2, or None
- Wireless Password– Home Network Password
-  HIT SUBMIT
NOTE: The info Information you enter is case-sensitive
R) Once wireless information has been submitted WAIT 2 MINUTES, then unplug power cord and then Ethernet cord. WAIT 10 SECONDS and plug only power cord back into Camera
NOTE: During this time your camera status will show as disconnected in the security portal
S) Once Camera obtains a wireless connection to router the status in security portal will display “Camera Ready”. This can take a few minutes
T) If Camera works while connected to Ethernet but not wirelessly then the WIFI* information must be verified. Repeat Steps L-Q. Remember wireless information is case sensitive
U) Test your Camera by playing a live video or by taking a snapshot
