ABP: Jack the Cat is Missing at JFK
September 05, 2011
Have you seen Jack the cat? Neither has American Airlines, or anyone else for that matter. The missing feline has sparked a lot of interest this week starting when his owner Karen Pascoe received a call shortly before boarding Flight 177 to San Francisco. Before he could be loaded into a kennel for the flight, Jack had gone missing in the baggage area.
When Pascoe had not heard from the airline for two days regarding the incident a Facebook page was created for Jack. He already has over 12,300 fans and over 500 followers on his Twitter account, @findjackthecat. Since then American Airlines has invited Pascoe back to JKF to help search for her pet. She has accepted their offer and will be back at the airport early Friday morning.
Humane traps have been set and a pet detective has been called in with search dogs. So far, there have been no confirmed sightings of Jack but other airlines in the airport have been asked to keep their eyes out.
Finding a lost cat in an airport as large as JFK is a daunting task. Airline officials should consider New York home security products to aid in their search. Motion detectors and wireless security cameras could help find where Jack is hiding or narrow down the search area.
Cross your paws that Jack is found soon!
